Today we remember our brother, Lassana Cisse Souleymane, who was murdered on 6 April 2019 while walking along Triq tal-Ġebel between Birżebbuġa and Ħal Far. He was 42 years old. Lassana was the father of three children, and himself an only child. We continue to mourn with his mother, his three children, his family and his friends.
The two suspects arrested shortly afterwards had also previously injured three other migrants in acts of attempted murder. Two years later they still have not been sentenced for these racially-motivated hate crimes.
We continue to stand with our brothers and sisters of the migrant community in Malta and condemn all forms of racism, xenophobia and discrimination.
